CANANDAIGUA, NY - Mercy Flight Central proudly announces that Jennie Baug, Kelly Cator, Derrick Harris, Billy Boyd, and CJ Stevens have successfully completed the Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) course, administered by the International Association of Medical Transport Communications Specialist (IAMTCS).
The CFC course equips flight communicators with essential skills and knowledge to effectively coordinate air medical missions, ensuring seamless communication between medical teams, ground crews, and pilots during critical situations. This accomplishment underscores Mercy Flight Central's commitment to maintaining the highest standards in air medical transportation.
Mercy Flight Central, a nonprofit air medical service provider based in Canandaigua, NY, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), ensuring compliance with rigorous standards of patient care and operational safety. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, our communications center is staffed by 6 full-time communication specialists and 1 part-timer. They manage dispatch operations, coordinating air medical resources in response to requests from 911 Centers across our coverage area and facilitating interfacility hospital-to-hospital transfers. This ensures timely and efficient response to medical emergencies and critical patient transports throughout Central New York, the Finger Lakes, and the Mohawk Valley regions.
